Cal Poly Pomona “Better Together Teacher Summit” – A Huge Success!

Cal Poly Pomona and the CSU system hosted the third annual “Better Together: Teachers Summit” on Friday, July 28.  Sessions focused on topics from bullying to teaching students to be open-minded critical thinkers. The event also provided an opportunity for educators to share ideas and build networks. Dr. Jill Biden was the keynote speaker. The event was attended by CA Pre-K-12 teachers, teacher candidates and school administrators from the Pomona area.
On Tuesday, August 1st, neighbors throughout the City of Pomona are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the annual "National Night Out" crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by the Pomona Police Department Crime Prevention Unit and the City of Pomona. Join in the celebration with more than 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S.. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, more than 37.1 million people are expected to participate in America's Night Out Against Crime.
